For I Know the Plans

For I Know the PlansIsn’t it good to know that the Lord has great plans for you? One of my favorite scriptures is Jeremiah 29:11:

‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”

Have you sought God in prayer regarding His plans for you?

Many people travel through life like this:

A woman goes to the airport. She walks up to the ticket counter. She tells the representative, “I want a ticket please.”

What is the next question the representative will probably ask her?

The representative will likely ask, “Where are you going?”

The woman says, “I don’t know.” Or she might say, “I don’t care. Just give me a ticket wherever.”

Having a vision that you review regularly makes a huge difference in how you approach each day. Why? Because you are no longer locked into the survivalist mentality – just getting through the day.

Rather, you get excited because you can see how your daily choices are forging your better future. You are focused on gleaning from the day rather than just getting through the day!

Recently, our Pastor preached from Psalm 139 and he pointed out Psalm 139:16:

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.”

Our pastor pointed out that the Lord has written our days in His book. Then he asked us a powerful question:

“Whose book are you reading?”

Are you living your life by The Book? Or are you living out of a play book that somebody else wrote?

If you don’t know your purpose and haven’t created a vision, then seek the Lord about it in prayer as soon as possible. Ask Him to give you a new vision for your life.

The Lord’s vision is always going to stretch beyond yourself. He wants you to make a positive impact not only with those around you now, but even to future generations.

That is exciting! Your health will play an important role in your physical ability to obtain your destiny, so it should not be taken lightly.

Here is a common scenario when it comes to weight loss. Many don’t have a vision beyond saying, “I want to lose X pounds.”

Well, what does that mean for your daily life? Until you add meaning to the process, that is just a lifeless number. Mere numbers rarely move people for long!

Here are some questions I recommend you think about regarding writing down a vision for your health and weight loss, a vision that will move you to action:

  • How will you be living differently daily?
  • What will you be able to do then that you can’t do now?
  • How will that impact your daily health choices?
  • How will that improve your quality of life and your purpose in the Lord?
  • Who else will benefit by you becoming healthier?

3 John 1:2 states the Lord’s good desire for your future:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Let’s agree together to make this life count, starting with a powerful vision that not only considers ourselves but the many we will impact in our lifetime – and beyond!

Be blessed in health, healing, and wholeness,

P.S. The Bible gives us a prescription for change in Romans 12:2:

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

It would be nice if our mind was renewed automatically when we accept Jesus as a Savior. But it is not. We must take the initiative to cast out old, self-defeating thoughts and replace them with thoughts that are consistent with God’s word.

Only then can we experience new life in Christ.

In the Take Back Your Temple program, you’ll discover how to renew your mind to God’s thoughts about health and wellness so that you can receive His best. Make the wise decision to learn more about joining us in this unique program today!

  • Oh wow. The analogy about the airport ticket really struck me. Years ago I had gotten really depressed and one day put up signs all over my house that read “I care” ! Just recently I thought of something someone told me … that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. So I do care where I’m going and will be a few years down the road, and will choose my destination today. I choose health!!!

  • Excellent message…it is so encouraging to hear God’s Word in a way that can be applied simply…Blessings Donna

  • The annionted word that you have given is very thought provoking, thank you so much.the bible talks about us provoking each other to good works, and believe me that is what you have done for me. I will/ am spend some time with the Lord really seeking my life’s vision more clearly. I want to leave a godly legacy for the generations who come after me, as I am sure others have done for me.
