It’s been a long time

What a busy last two months! I have started a new job and must admit that I have been pre-occupied with getting up to speed on that. It’s been great fun, though. I even participated in a dance event to celebrate Black History month at the office. That is something I never would have done when I was heavier. Dancing in front of hundreds of people? Ha! But this time, I wasn’t afraid to strut my stuff and I had a blast. As a teenager, I used to dream about being a Broadway dancer and this was my chance to get a little taste of that.

I have been doing a great job with maintaining my weight. I did well over the holidays also. Now, I think I am ready to tackle the last 20 pounds I have to lose. I started back today on my program, focusing more on portion control this time since my diet is healthy. I also decided to purchase a mini-trampoline and add that to my routine to shake things up.

I will track my progress here often to help myself stay accountable for reaching my latest goal. I plan to set a goal to lose at least two pounds per week, so it should only take 10 weeks to reach my goal. That will be around my birthday in May, so it will be an excellent present!

Kimberly Taylor

Kimberly Taylor is the founder of Take Back Your Temple, a Christ-centered teaching ministry that helps Christian women understand what emotional eating is communicating and respond with wisdom, steadiness, and peace.

After years of struggling with emotional eating and reaching 240 pounds, Kimberly experienced lasting change through Scripture-guided renewal, practical stewardship, and learning to recognize the signals her body had been carrying.

Today, she helps women move from pressure and shame into clarity and steady formation, teaching that emotional eating is often a signal of inner strain rather than a failure of discipline.
