NOTE: This was posted back in 2013, but I was reminded of how the Lord came through for us in a big way. The Lord keeps His word!
Yesterday, I shared the story about how our family cars are on their last legs and Mike and I were unsure about what to do. We prayed and asked God for direction. Here’s the ‘Jehoshaphat’ story in case you missed it.
Well, God answered in a big way!
Sunday night, Mike heard from the Lord that we were to go to the car dealership the next day.
We went. I was a little nervous because the car we wanted was more than our budget would bear. But I was willing to go to see what the Lord would do for us.
It turned out that our salesperson was a Christian also.
We told him the car we wanted, he had one in stock, and we test drove it. But after crunching the numbers, he couldn’t get the monthly payments down to an amount that we could afford.
We politely thanked him and told him that if a car should come in that would work for us financially, then call us.
We were about to rise from our seats when he said, “I just thought about the perfect car for you. What if I could get you into that car with no money down?”
That caught our attention. I told him, “I’m willing to see it.”
He brought us out a very nice, clean, low miles used car. I test drove it and it handled like a dream. He was right – it was perfect for us.
Best of all, it fit our budget. We did not have to pay any money that day!
We had driven the Chevy to the car lot, with Mike struggling to turn the wheel the whole way (remember, it had problems with the power steering among other issues).
Mike brought along the title because we both wanted to leave it there. We were able to trade it in for a good value, applied to the newer car.
How happy we were to drive away from the lot in our new car and bid the Chevy goodbye! Mike even beeped the horn in salute at it.
It served us well for a long time and we were grateful for its service.
God is good and he answers prayers. If you are facing a tough situation, keep the faith. You too will have a praise report and soon sing “Look what the Lord has done!”
Be blessed in Health, Healing, and Wholeness,
