The Belief that Keeps Us Bound

If you are in bondage to negative habits, there is 1 belief that can keep you bound.

Just one. All other limiting beliefs arise from this one.

See if you can spot the belief from this story:

Imagine that a person is trapped in a burning building. A window or door is available for them to escape to safety.

You try to convince the person that an escape route exists. However, the person insists that they've been through the building dozens of times and they've never seen an escape route.

Because they haven't seen it, they ignore your pleas to escape.

Instead they sit down and resign themselves to perishing in the fire!

Did you spot the belief that kept them trapped?

That's right. Their belief was unbelief!

When someone has unbelief, they won't even look for an escape route. Or else, they will only go so far, stop believing, and then give up trying.

But supposed the person in our previous story believed? They would have followed you until they reached the escape route!

They would say to themselves, ''I would rather die trying than sit here and perish in the fire!''

The Lord also promises us an escape route:

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

- 1 Corinthians 10:13

He says that He provides an escape route from every temptation. While the Lord doesn't bring temptation to us, He knows that the enemy will.

However, the Lord's intention is that you have the victory over every temptation!

If you are struggling with unbelief, then ask yourself:

What am I basing this unbelief on?

Is it from your past experience? Your position as a child of God is a game-changer.

A person of the world has only themselves to depend on when it comes to change.

So they are stuck at their past experience.

But in Christ, you can see with Spiritual eyes, into future possibilities with God's help.

Your past experience nor your present limitations hold you back anymore.

You can come to God's throne of grace to receive revival, wisdom and strength to do everything that He calls you to do!

I recommend meditating on this scripture today to believe that change is possible for you:

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

- Romans 12:2

God would not write in his Word that we are to be transformed if it were impossible.

It is possible with the Holy Spirit’s help!

But you've got to believe. Seeking is proof of belief.

When you believe, you won't stop when difficulty comes. After all, you know an escape route is there.

Keep seeking and you will find it!
