Women of wisdom

Sunday night, I had the honor and privilege of speaking at the ‘Women of Wisdom’ meeting at my church. We had a great turn-out and a Mistress of Ceremonies who is truly on fire for the Lord. She set the tone for the evening by playing the song, “I am Healed.”

Then I spoke, giving the 7 steps I took to regain my health, and showed the group pictures of how I looked before I took steps to take back my own temple. During the meeting we stretched, shimmyed, and some even hula-hooped! It was a lot of fun and the joy of the Lord was in the house.

I finished the presentation by reading the women a letter from a book called, ‘His Princess: Love Letters from your King’. It was a wonderful letter that emphasized how much God loves us and longs for us to see ourselves through His eyes. When I finished speaking, the women even graced me with a standing ovation. I was humbled by their response.

They had many questions about health, which I was happy to answer. They even taught me some things! We all shared our wisdom last night and it was a beautiful thing to see. We truly lived up to the name “Women of Wisdom”.

Kimberly Taylor is the founder of Take Back Your Temple, a Christ-centered ministry that helps Christian women experience freedom from emotional eating through Biblical wisdom.

After years of struggling with emotional eating and reaching 240 pounds, Kimberly lost more than 85 pounds and has maintained that loss for over 20 years. More importantly, she experienced lasting change as Scripture renewed her thinking and taught her to steward her body with wisdom rather than shame, pressure, or force.

Today, Kimberly helps women understand what emotional eating may be revealing, respond with Biblical truth and Spirit-led wisdom, and develop steady patterns of peace, freedom, and faithful stewardship.
