I pray that this Christmas and beyond, that you experience how much God loves you more deeply than ever before. The evidence that He loves you is that He sent His Son to you as the ultimate gift, whose birth we celebrate this week. As you remind yourself how much God loves you, then you are free to love yourself. And as you love yourself, you have a greater desire to care for yourself and others.
This is the dream I have for all of my coaching clients: Not to want to lose weight and get healthy to fit society's expectations or some unrealistic beauty standard. But to practice good health habits because you love yourself and therefore desire to live a life of maximum health, energy, and vitality.
Strive to renew your mind to God's love several times a day because only then can you gain power to love and care for yourself.
So here is my prayer for you this Christmas (from Ephesians 3: 14-21):
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and
ever. Amen.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Love,
