I don’t know about you, but I find fighting “the good fight of faith” really tough on some days!
But if you ever feel yourself becoming weak in faith, this article gives you 3 things to check to ensure you are fighting the good fight of faith effectively.
You can learn to develop supernatural faith!
1 Timothy 6:12 exhorts us: “Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.”
It is easy to get caught up in your 5 senses, especially that which you see.
But God calls us to look at our world through His eyes, the eyes of faith.
That is where the fight is!
So here are those 3 things to check:
- How much time are you spending in God’s Word every day?
It is not only important to read the Word, but to look for opportunities every day to practice what you learn.
In the Parable Jesus told about the man who built his house on the rock vs. the man who built on the sand (see Matthew 7:24-29), there was only 1 difference between the two men.
The man who built his house on the rock not only heard the Word, but did the Word.
That is where your Spiritual, mental, and emotional stability comes from; practicing the Word!
Change is a process, but it will never happen if you don’t start where you are.
2. How much time are you spending in prayer, in relationship with the Father?
If you don’t spend any time with someone, then your relationship will be shallow at best.
In prayer, you not only speak to God, but quiet yourself enough to allow Him to speak to you and direct you.
It’s that second part where we can fall short, myself included!
Prayer will also help you guard against your faith’s biggest enemy.
 3. Are you praising God with your lips?
Psalm 22:3 says of God: “But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.”
Whenever you praise God from a heart of gratitude, you invite Him into your situation.
It also lifts any spirit of heaviness, so make praise a practice and send the enemy packing!
Here is prayer to help those who are struggling to stay in the fight:
Gracious heavenly Father! Thank you for your abundance of grace that gives us everything we need for life and godliness. Even though my feelings and what I see might cause me to become discouraged and weary, yet I will lift up my Spiritual eyes to the hills. You Lord are where my Help comes from. You are the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Nothing is too hard for you. I am so thankful that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness.
Because I wait on You Lord, you renew my strength. Because I keep my mind stayed on You, I receive perfect peace. Because I praise you with my voice, joy lives in my heart that is powerful enough to lift any spirit of heaviness that tries to settle upon me.
Help me, Lord. Help me to remember to study and practice Your Word every day. Help me to make our relationship a priority through making prayer a priority. I will continue to give you all honor, glory, and praise that only You deserve. In Jesus name, Amen.
Be blessed with health, healing, and wholeness,

P.S. If you are tired of trying diet after diet, losing the weight, but gaining it all back then the Take Back Your Temple program is your solution. You grow stronger Spiritually and heal emotionally as you are losing weight.
Diets can give you information about how to eat but they can’t give you the wisdom nor power to destroy the mental strongholds that are holding you back.

I do struggle in my quiet time. I can get so busy doing God’s work. But I have to spend time with Him who strengthen me. I thank God for this moment right now.
Wise decision, Renee!
I’m so blessed by what you’ve said today, Kim! My cup runneth over!
My food issues stem from food insecurity and the rest became like a magnet because as one door opened ( being starved of food by a parent who grew up with scarcity)it opened the door for many others. I’m learning to practice mindfulness so the Lord can “Break Every Chain.”
Rozell, I too am in the middle of it. I believe that’s when God is stretching us. We’re on the Potter’s Wheel, and we’re being refined, so that we can be more like Him.
Old things are shed and new things are bred on this Wheel, and it hurts!
It’s growing season for us Dear One. We are not alone. It’s no fun and it’s hard, but let’s pray for each other, so that Everything that God wants to cut away from Us is gone & we are left with renewed faith, renewed minds and a renewed life.
Hugs,
T
Thank you
The more I work, go to school, my suffering seem to be stronger. I do not know why I have to suffer so much and so long. I will stay encouraged from from words.
Hi Kimberly … thanks so much for this encouragement … it’s a wonderful confirmation for me at this time … How amazing is our God ?! He never leaves us nor forsakes us … the scripture that I’ve been hanging off these last few weeks is from Exodus 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you – you need only to be still” … How better to do that than to be ‘in HIS Word”?! … He is able to do all things in such a way that brings blessing to us and glory to HIM. May the mind of the Master be the Master of our minds !! 🙂 May HE bless you, my sister, for always wanting others to be drawn closer the the Master … thank you for your witness that brings glory to HIM .. so here I am, many miles away from you (in Australia) but feel so close 🙂 x
I am really enjoying your words of inspiration. I look forward to receiving them. It keeps me encouraged and inspired. Keep it coming.
