Focus Scripture
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow…” – Matthew 6:33-34 (NKJV)

Reflection
Has fear of the future ever stolen your peace in the present?
Raising my hand over here!
I am so grateful that Jesus gave us the best example about avoiding anxiety.
He didn’t just command us not to worry…He lived it!
How?
Jesus trusted the Father day by day.
He didn’t scramble for status, rush ahead in fear, or panic when things looked uncertain.
He simply sought the Father’s will and walked in it, moment by moment. That’s our invitation, too.
Jesus:
- Began each day in prayer, focused on Kingdom business (see Mark 1:35).
- Trusted the Father for provision (see Mark 6:30-44).
- Rested even in storms (see Mark 4:35-41).
Jesus focused on His purpose, not people-pleasing.
And even at the cross, He surrendered, not struggled.
If Jesus, the Son of God, needed that rhythm of trust, rest, and obedience, how much more do we?
To follow Jesus means more than believing what He said; it means living as He lived.
Not allowing fear to drive you, but peace to lead you.
Not trying to control tomorrow, but trusting the God who holds it.
Reflection Questions:
- Where is fear trying to rush you ahead of God’s timing?
- What would it look like for you to seek the Kingdom first today?
- What “daily bread” has God already provided for which you can thank Him?
Prayer:
Lord, You are my example. Show me how to live with peace, not panic…how to walk in trust, not fear.
Help me to follow You in Spirit and in practice.
Remind me to seek Your kingdom first each day. Teach me to rest in Your provision. I surrender my tomorrow to You and choose to walk in Your peace and truth today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
