The Danger of Spiritual Disconnection (Picture)

Recently, I walked for 75 minutes in the neighborhood. I love it because it is an opportunity to give and RECEIVE ministry! What do I mean?

Well, I like to smile and wave to the people in cars that pass by when I walk. I consider that ministry because you never know if someone is having a bad day. A simple smile and wave might change their mood and attitude.

Plus, I pray silently for them that if they don’t know Jesus for the pardoning of their sins, that the Lord send someone into their circle that they will receive the gospel from.

I RECEIVE ministry during my walks too because I often meditate on scriptures and the Lord opens up my understanding of them further, showing me new connections to apply them.

For example, I picked up the leaves in the picture below on my walk today. I saw the red one first on the concrete and walked right past it. However, I felt the Spirit telling me to go back and get it (leaf on the left).

As I examined it, I saw that the rest of the leaves on the tree from which it fell were still green. So the red was not a natural color and an indication that, even though the red color was pretty now, it was a sign of the leaf’s decay since it was no longer receiving any life from the tree.

As I walked along, I saw another leaf on the ground that had turned brown (middle leaf). I picked that up.

Finally, I saw a leaf that seemed to have been disconnected from the tree the longest because it was dark brown, starting to shrivel up, and crack (leaf on the right).

Wow! I brought the leaves home and had to show them to Mike, my husband, about the illustration I saw. I took a picture to share it with you too &

Jesus is the Vine and we are the branch. We receive life from Him through our constant connection to Him. Without Him, we can do nothing but with Him we can do everything He calls us to do (see John 15:4-5)!

I pray you receive life from the Lord in abundance today and every day!
