What is your Eating ”Normal”?

I've had the takebackyourtemple.ue1.rapydapps.cloud website online since 2006 and I've receive this comment via email more than once: ''I just want to eat normal.''

But what is ''normal' to you?

Sneak eating is ''normal'' for some people, but always ask yourself if your normal is good.

That is an important question to answer for yourself because, just because something is ''normal,'' that doesn't make it good!

The dictionary defines normal as ''Conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected.''

Once upon a time, emotional eating was ''normal'' for me.

But I knew it was not good.

Emotional eating was weighing me down with excess weight, sapping my energy, and leaving me open to all kinds of sickness and disease.

I knew if I wanted to change my mind and body, then I needed a new ''Normal''.

My new ''Normal'' was going to come from my desire to live as a fit and healthy person.

I started separating my emotions from my food choices - finding Godly ways to manage my emotions, plus make food choices that tasted good to me AND were good for me.

That's my new normal to this day! Does your vision of ''eating normal'' is one that would make you feel:

  • Confident
  • Strong
  • Energetic
  • Optimistic about the future
  • Closer to the person God created you to be?

If you are saying to yourself ''I just want to eat normal,'' then consider that normal for the typical person is not good.

And it's not just about what they are eating...it is about what they are NOT eating.

Unfortunately, most people are NOT eating the foods that God created to help keep our bodies in MINT condition, supporting our:

  • Metabolism
  • Immune system
  • Nerve function
  • Tissue repair

The Bible says in Romans 12:2 -

''And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.''

It's a blessing when we get to choose what and how much to eat. But with that blessing comes responsibility.

I just thought about the old Spiderman movie in which Peter Packer's uncle told him something similar: ''With great power comes great responsibility.'' Here is the clip:

If your normal is not good now, then you have the power to create a new one that works for you with God's help.

What is your normal now and what do you want it to be? Be sure to define it for yourself!
