Worth More than Money

What is a gift worth more than money?

Meaning is worth more than money. Jesus' life had meaning.

In the following drawing, you see the difference in a life lived without meaning (left) vs. one that is (right).

Follow Jesus' example for a life of meaning and focus.

The enemy would love to have your mind preoccupied with worldly distractions.

In that way, you are always looking for lasting satisfaction, including in food, but never finding it.

Your life becomes an exercise in futility.

However as Believers in Jesus, He give our lives meaning.

Everything we do is in service to that meaning - including our desire for better health.

Why?

Our health gives us strength to serve the Lord.

In this article, learn 3 scriptures from Jesus' example that shows us how to live focused, meaningful lives.

If you do this, it will release a LOT of worry and anxiety, plus grow stronger Spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

1. Meaningful Relationship

"And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

- John 17:3

Jesus' priority was on His relationship with the Father. We too have a relationship with God the Father through Jesus Christ.

So let's ask ourselves these questions to maximize this meaningful relationship:

  • Do we carry the Father's love in our hearts everywhere we go and in everything we do?
  • Do we talk with Him throughout the day, sharing our emotional struggles as well as joys?
  • Do we give Him thanks in everything?

Your goal is to build a powerful, intimate relationship with the Lord through time spent with Him and dependency on Him every day.

He gives us power to face life's challenges. In Him we live, move, and have our being!

Without Him, we can do nothing.

2. Meaningful Fuel

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work."

- John 4:34

Food is essential to life. Jesus equated doing the Father's will and finishing His work as important as food. Do you?

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Have you taken time to assess God's will for your life?
  • Are you walking in your purpose?
  • Are you using your Spiritual gifts to serve others?

If not, seek the Lord in prayer about this matter. Let it become what you think about all day long. He will give you the desires of your heart.

As you put your thoughts to work on doing God's will, then you will ''unemploy'' those thoughts devoted to destructive habits, like compulsive eating.

That is the path to freedom!

3. Meaningful Focus

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen."

- Matthew 28:19-20

From the beginning, God created things to reproduce after their own kind.

So corn will reproduce corn, birds reproduce birds and people reproduce people!

In a similar way, disciples are meant to reproduce disciples. That is what we are, disciples of Jesus Christ.

By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

- John 13:35

The question is, how fertile are you in this area?

You don't have to travel the world to reproduce. Instead, focus on the territory God has already given you to occupy - your family, your job or business, church or community.

While we can't control what happens with the seeds we plant (it is the Lord who gives increase, see 1 Corinthians 3:7), we can ensure that we are faithful stewards over what God has given us.

We can plant God's word faithfully in our own hearts and minds.

We can live it out and in doing so, spread it abroad in confidence that it will reproduce.

After all, God's word doesn't come back to Him void. It accomplishes that which He pleases!

Take aim and focus your energy as Jesus did, starting now. The power the Lord manifests in your life will amaze you!
